1. Scope and Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Finqt LLC-FZ ("Finqt", "we", "us", or "our"), established in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, handles personal data in connection with finqtool, a macOS menu-bar application distributed through the Mac App Store (the "App").
finqtool is a separate product from the finqt iOS mobile application. This Policy applies only to finqtool. The iOS app is covered by a separate Privacy Policy at finqt.com/privacy.
2. The Short Version
finqtool is a local-first Mac app. It does not use a Finqt account, does not have a backend server operated by us, and does not send your settings, notes, alerts, or personal information to Finqt.
In normal operation, finqtool collects no personal data on our side. We do not maintain a user database for finqtool. There is no account to delete, because there is no account.
The only network traffic the App initiates is to public market-data endpoints that supply crypto prices, funding rates, and open-interest figures. Those requests are made by your Mac to third-party providers, not to us. Those third parties may see your IP address and standard request metadata as part of responding to the request — the same way any web browser would reveal that information when loading a web page.
3. Data That Stays on Your Mac
The following information is created and stored entirely on your device, using standard macOS storage locations (application support directory, user defaults, and/or the macOS Keychain):
- your configured crypto watchlist and ticker symbols
- local price alerts you set up
- trading notes you type into the App
- preferences, layout choices, and display settings
We do not receive copies of this information, we do not back it up, and we cannot recover it for you. If you uninstall finqtool, erase your Mac, or lose access to your device, the locally stored data is lost unless you have separately backed it up using your own macOS backup tools.
4. Third-Party Market-Data Requests
To display live prices, funding rates, and open-interest figures, finqtool calls public market-data endpoints operated by third parties. These may include public APIs provided by crypto exchanges or market-data aggregators. Such requests originate from your Mac and carry only the standard technical information required to deliver a web request (such as IP address, request headers, and the ticker or asset you are asking about).
We do not proxy these requests through Finqt servers. We do not log them. We have no record of what you looked at, when you looked at it, or how often.
The privacy practices of those third-party providers are governed by their own policies, not this one. We encourage you to review the policies of any exchange or data provider whose public endpoints you are concerned about.
5. Mac App Store Purchase Data
When you buy finqtool through the Mac App Store, Apple processes the payment, verifies the purchase, and manages receipts, restores, and refunds. We do not receive your payment-card number, full name, billing address, or other purchase details from Apple beyond what is required to confirm that the App has been lawfully licensed to you.
Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's own privacy practices, not this Policy.
6. Crash Reports and Diagnostics
If you have enabled Apple's standard "Share With App Developers" diagnostics option in macOS, Apple may forward anonymized crash reports and diagnostic data to us via Apple's developer tooling. This data, when provided, typically contains:
- the crashed stack trace
- macOS version and device model
- the App version
It does not contain your notes, alerts, watchlist, or other user content. You can disable this at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your Mac.
Apart from this optional Apple-mediated channel, finqtool does not contain any additional analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDK that phones home to Finqt or to a third-party analytics service.
7. Support Contact
If you email us at info@finqt.com for support, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information solely to respond to your request and resolve the issue you raised. We do not use support emails for marketing.
Support correspondence may be retained for a reasonable period to handle follow-ups, disputes, or legal obligations.
8. Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit, finqtool does not:
- require or use a Finqt account, email, password, or username
- sync any data to a Finqt server or to a cloud service we operate
- collect your name, phone number, physical address, or government ID
- collect precise geolocation
- access your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, or calendar
- use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs
- sell or share personal data for money or advertising
9. Children's Privacy
finqtool is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, contact info@finqt.com.
10. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect any personal data we do receive (such as support correspondence). Because finqtool does not transmit user content to our servers in normal operation, the main security surface is your own Mac. You are responsible for:
- keeping macOS and the App updated
- protecting physical and account access to your device
- backing up the App's local data if you care about preserving notes and alerts
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Transfers
To the limited extent that personal data reaches us (for example, via a support email), it may be processed from the United Arab Emirates or other countries where we or our service providers operate.
12. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights such as the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because finqtool does not maintain user accounts and we do not receive the App's local data, we typically hold no personal data about you unless you have contacted us directly (for example, via support email).
If you have contacted us and wish to exercise a right over that correspondence, email info@finqt.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may refuse or limit requests where permitted by law.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted at finqt.com/finqtoolprivacy with an updated effective date. Material changes may be highlighted through the App or through another reasonable communication method when appropriate.
